Another small amp from a thrift store

Marshall MG2FX.

Bought from Goodwill for 6 Euro. It had been returned by someone as faulty. All that was wrong was the original power supply was missing and a normal 9VDC pedal supply is hopelessly underpowered - the amp draws over one amp intermittently, and cuts in and out out on something like a Boss PSA.

The only high power pedal supply that I had was noisy with this amp. It did work perfectly with one of my home-built linear supplies and a 12VAC one amp plug pack. So I knew the amp was OK.

I dismantled it and checked everything anyway - no issues found.

It is now happily running on a supply from Amazon (with the plug replaced to extend the cable and make it center negative):

Nice! A no-brainer at that price.
