Cabinet was definitely outside or at least used as a plant-stand...

Stripped down for cleaning and restoration. Fortunately the wooden structure seems solid. Only needs a couple of repairs.

Nicely done!
The JC120 is every bit of an amplification icon as any Fender/Marshall/Vox/Supro/SIlvertone/et al... A restoration is highly appreciated here!

Cabinet binding. Top pic is after scrubbing and sanding the worst of the dings out. Bottom pic is after treating with liquid shoe polish.
I know I keep mentioning it, but the rusted upholstery tacks are from being out in the weather. It is disappointing that some amps are treated this way.

This is your equivalent to adopting a Bulgarian stray dog.

Good metaphor. A mangy, flea-ridden, wet one...

Re: JC-120 in need of a lot of love
Front grille cleaned and maintained. Ready for reinstallation. I don't have a before pic, but it was the filthiest grille I've ever cleaned.
Vacuumed, blown off with compressed air, gently washed with one drop of washing-up liquid in a liter of water, then a final clean with automotive foaming upholstery cleaner. The rear exposed chip-board resprayed with matt black.
There are a couple of small rips, but it is a nearly 50 year old amp, so that's honest and I'll leave it. The grille cloth is structurally sound.
Half the speaker screws were missing. Not sure how they could have escaped after the grille cloth was installed? Perhaps there were only four per speaker to begin with? Anyway I've added some T-nuts to the holes that were empty so each speaker will have 8 fasteners.
Also repaired the handle. Cleaned the corrosion off the end-caps and replaced the metal and rubber strap.
Next task is repairing and strengthening the woodwork of the cabinet. Just a few issues to fix.
