32_OD pedal - V2

Post by laurie » Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:16 pm

G'day!

Based on feedback from users of the V1 pedal, I've done a signal routing redesign of the pedal.

Changes:
  • The CLEAN and OVERDRIVE signals are mixed before the EQ. The EQ is applied to the mixed signal. In the V1 pedal, the EQ was only on the OVERDRIVE signal, the CLEAN signal was passed directly to the output without going through the EQ.
  • Both the OVERDRIVE and the CLEAN signals have level controls that allow adjustment from maximum to zero. This allows for 100% OVERDRIVE (with no CLEAN), to 100% CLEAN (with no OVERDRIVE), or any blend in between. By reducing the OVERDRIVE signal to zero, the V2 pedal can be used as a pure clean boost (much like the old DingoTone HZD).
  • The medium impedance input buffer in the V1 pedal is changed to a high impedance buffer.
.
This is the current block diagram (subject to evolution). I'm not sure when this will get to production... aiming for the end of the year.

Useful changes Laurie and I hope it goes into production.
