Need help dating/pricing a Maxon OD808 pedal

G'day!

This one has me stumped. I want to sell it for a fair price but I can't find much on the WWW about this particular variation. Does anyone have any info that would help me date it or price it?

What I know:
  • There are no (zero) components with an identifiable date. No date codes on the caps, pots, or chip (it is a single JRC4558 and the batch number is of no help). No date on the boards.
  • Pots are "modern" 9mm type.
  • The base-plate is completely different to modern versions (must be removed to change the battery).
  • There are no "CE" markings anywhere. Normally that would indicate pre-1985, but that just doesn't seem right.
It feels like it is vintage, "rare", and thus valuable. But if it isn't I don't want to advertise it with a silly price.

Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks!

The sticker on the back and circuitry look relativly modern. The lack of CE might mean it was an import (such as from Japan). I'd guess 90s, or early 2000s. Nice pedal but I expect the value is not so masively high, but inline with used 808s. Maxon are more expensive Stateside and above though than Ibanez. $120-150 ? Popular with the metal set!

One of the best modern TS pedals with a "rounded" out tone, I recall thinking it was one of the few ODs I could use with a Roland JC.

Thanks for the thoughts! Interesting - I didn't think of it being a production run that was never meant for the EU.

Early 2000's feels right to me too.
