Looks like more fun than my summer :)
You aren't a fan of smoke, I take it?

What is everyone thinking about the 32OD now that they have been with you for a while?
Today I finally had more time to play with the 32OD.

Saw that Laurie used a 12V zenner diode in the power section, so... why not?

In 12 volts it is more smooth, and with a lot more headroom, even with a strong humbucker (15K alnico V passive).

Different from when I used a strat, today I felt that less clean/dry gave me a more pleasant drive.

Pushing it with a clean booster didn't do any better, in my opinion.

A BD-2 as a booster is okay for lead and solos, but I think the 32OD shines in the low/low medium gain, with a single coil pickup, thru a clean valve amp.

Next time I will swap the "tranies" to see if I can make it somehow better, now I doubt that but will give it a try.

Stay tuned.

The 12V Zener limit is because the base-emitter reverse voltage limit of the MP16B transistors (when used as clippers) is 15V.

Is a bit of a do-it-all pedal. OD, full range boost incl. treble boost; fuzz even

Its not on a board, but as a stand alone with a battery in it, its having lot of fun rockin' around on my music room floor atm

It can go from a hairy overdrive into a fat fuzz and everything in between.
That fuzz comes from the design choice here:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=486&start=20#p3916

By leaving out the 100 Ohm resistor ... cranking the gain drives the voltage amplifier into clipping - that's what gives the "fuzz".

I love my 32TB2, it arrived yesterday. My first Tone Bender. I love how it’s got raspy texture when playing power chords, but sings and has a smooth almost liquid quality when playing single notes in higher registers. It’s a sound I’ve heard on a lot of records but never got from any of my other pedals.

Great to hear! I told you that Laurie nailed the sound. :ugeek:

I know I'm crapping on about my own design... but the 32-OD is the most used pedal on my new board.

I use these settings to liven up the tone and give is a hint of grit.

I hope to receive my pedals soon and will try that out as well.

That photo is uncanny. I pulled my three "Laurie pedals" out last night and really enjoyed using the 32 overdrive with almost the exact same settings!

Adds some chime and sparkle to the AC15, a hint of grit too, like it a lot! Almost reminds me of using a TubeScreamer but in the case of the 32OD the ton remains super transparent / no EQ shifted, unless required.

If I had a wish list for a deluxe version, perhaps some sort of "Sag" on the drive and perhaps a mids control?

But overall a great always on pedal!
