5) Spray (carefully!) the entire box and lid with satin clear-coat to "fix" the label and give consistent finish.
How do you do this step exactly? And how do you keep the process dust free?

The two key pieces are:
  • Use high quality paint. I use a brand called Krylon.
  • Be sparing when coating - a first "mist" coat, then two finish coats, all quite thin.
If the batches were bigger I would have the boxes powder-coated and screen/stamp printed. This is only cost effective in batch sizes of 100 or larger.

As for dust... that is controlled by no air movement. My garage is well sealed (it has to be because the temperature gets down to minus 40 here in the winter). Good sealing means no air movement means no dust.

A quick keep-alive note for the thread... labels and paint. Dry-time takes a while. Still moving forward :D

The entire batch almost ready for guts install...
.
I'll be painting two 32FZ housings antique nickel and sending to pepe to replace his two plain white (unlabeled) Fuzz Architect housings. I had two spare yellow housings so I made two yellow 32FZ housings just to be different.

The first completed 32_OD. This one is the drill prototype. The rest will need to wait until next weekend for the clear-coat to cure.

I just fired up the bass rig and tested the 32 OD with bass. It works just fine. Whether the tone is to your liking would be up to you, but the pedal is happy with bass frequencies.

I just received the first feedback from a real-world user of the 32OD. The pedal that went locally to a work colleague.

He is very happy with it. Using a lot of added clean...

PS: I am slowly getting all the pedals packed and shipped. The first ones should start arriving in Canada in the next 7-to-10 days.
