I'll post actual test results when the full bread-boarded version is complete later in the week.
Nice, looking forward to hear it.

Laurie, as a suggestion, how do you see the possibility to put sockets for the transistors and trimpots to bias them in your project?

So it could be used with another kind of Ge transistors.

I'm saying this because I have quite a few different brands and models of Ge transistors, including some good Mullard OC44, so it would be interesting to try another "flavors".

But it's just a suggestion, if it's not a good ideia for you just ignore me and go ahead with your original plan.

And sorry for asking that, I will hear it and if I like it, I will be in line for one anyway.

The design is properly engineered ;), so will not need "biasing" in the sense that the fuzzface circuit needs biasing. Sockets for the transistors are definitely possible "special order".

But. The transistors you use will need to have some very specific specifications.

You mean NFE and leakage values?

No. As I mentioned, this is a properly engineered overdrive, so as long as they are within a broadly acceptable range leakage and gain are taken care of by the design.

The specific parameter is V(ebo).

Ah, OK.

Thank you to have educated me, I didn't know about that, I googled and learn about V(ebo).

I will look at the datasheets before any transistor swapping adventure.

This is the block diagram for the fully prototyped circuit.

The pure overdrive signal path has a hint of "darkness" ... adding a hint of dry signal makes it perfect.

I'm thinking I might call it the "Germanium Dark Drive"

I've set the gain structure up so that with "Drive" set to minimum and "Add Dry" set to maximum it can be used as a slightly dirty boost.
