ZOOM 708II and 506 bass multi-effects

In 2013/2014 I was a traitor. I let the BOSS pedals in the drawer and played with ZOOM multi-effects, first the 506 and then mostly the 708II. I do love the 708II, really a great multi-effects unit, with Oberheim-like polyphonic synthesizers (really polyphonic, with a perfect tracking) and very good effects of all kind (with stereo/pan options), it's easy to program (choose a basic sound, choose an effect of each type, turn the knobs just like a single pedal for each effect) and with a memory card you can store up to 300 user programs. I also really like the "industrial" orange/grey look. Expression pedal for Wha or modulation (rate...). And last but not least : you've got a drum machine inside.

The 506 like all the ZOOM "500 series" is very simple to program, sturdy and good looking, and hide lot of terrific sounds.

I finally returned to BOSS, because the SYB-3 and the DD-7 sounds are so beautiful. I think I needed to explore something else in order to rediscover my BOSS pedals. I also never really played with modulations-type effects (chorus, phaser, flanger, etc) and wanted to try. Now I know what I really like. And you know, BOSS never released a ME-30 multi-effects for bass (the ME-30 is incredible, I played with a guitar player who had one, trust me it's really great), and the ZOOM 708II is like the BOSS ME-30 for bass guitar in a sense.
