Re: Show Us You Guitar, Bass Collection!
This was the first guitar for me. Actual instrument is long gone... (40 years ago...)
Tiesco Strat copy in blonde.
Pic of a similar one... mine had a maple neck.

We all seem to have had a strat copy or similar from the 1970's.

Re: Show Us You Guitar, Bass Collection!
Yes, my Aria was a good guitar to check out if I want to follow the guitar route (I already played bass at that time). But man, my used MIJ Fender Stratocaster was such an improvement! I don't regret that I have given the Aria away - and the cool thing is that I can still play it here and then if I want.

Re: Show Us You Guitar, Bass Collection!
I don't think I contributed to this post. I love them all, and I lust only for a flying-V at this point, even though I know I don't need one
My MIJ Japanese floral kimono tele (it's real kimono silk under the poly finish, and it looks amazing up close) - in this pic, it's getting upgraded with unpotted Curtis Novak Alnico 2 pickups and better pots/caps/wiring, because the MIJ electrics suck. A 60th anniversary (has a little button on the back of the headstock commemorating it) US made Highway-1 strat. Nitro finish (love it), and the best part? I scored it for 300 bucks at a garage sale down the street. My kids came in the door and told me there was a guitar at the neighbors garage sale, and you know what that usually means - crap! I was shocked when I saw what it was, and ran to the bank machine, leaving one of my kids there as a deposit My Gretsch G5420. It's a toss-up with the tele, but I think I love this one the most, even though I find it hardest to play - the Fender scale length suits me better, and I find the neck shape tougher too, but it's a fully hollow body, and it's a Gretsch, enough said. I've since upgraded the bridge to a one of Tim Harman's stainless steel tru-arc bridges, which sounds and looks great. Super resonant guitar, as one would expect, but the best part is it seems to be at Eb - find an Eb anywhere on the neck, little hammer on, and with a touch of gain off she goes indefinitely, with the vibrations swelling up in the body.
