2000 Yamaha SBV-500

Image

Product Description
Yamaha SBV500 Electric Bass Guitar
Nostalgia rules in this bass version of Yamaha's '60s-revisited SGV guitar.
Enjoy the clear-voiced single-coil powering and a retro styling that's guaranteed to get you noticed.
Contemporary retro in the bass field has rarely been as elegant or practical as on Yamaha's SBV500.
The sculpted, reverse-cutaway solid alder body balances a treat on the strap, while the slim 34"-scale neck offers great handling, a fast action and a full, well-tensioned tone.
The two single-coil pickups evoke the '60s vibe, yet the bright and cutting sounds are entirely relevant to many of today's musical styles and interpretations.
All you have to do now is choose your color - and if you pick yellow, wear shades!

Elegant design and sonic solutions are Yamaha traditions. Yamaha continues to innovate with the Silent Series. Originally designed as ideal practice and travel instruments, the steel-string SLG100S and nylon-string SLG100N quickly became popular with touring guitarists enamored with its practical, feedback-free live applications and modern jet-age appearance. The custom-designed pickup systems by L.R. Baggs and B-Band faithfully reproduce every nuance, providing full, rich tone for stage and studio work. The SLG twins also feature great sounding built-in Yamaha digital reverbs. Backstage, on the tour bus, or at home, the SLG100 easily fulfills the role of a woodshed axe, thanks to its comfortable, lightweight composite frame and included earbud-style headphones. With the AUX IN jack, you can connect a CD player for private jamming. When you're finished, the SLG100 quickly dismatles and stores in the included compact gig bag for easy storage and travel. The SLG100 works with batteries or the included power supply.

Revolutionary Super-Light 4-String Bass

The next revolution in evolution. The conventional wisdom in building electric guitars has long been that the more uniform and heavy the material, the better the sound. Yamaha has shattered this concept with an advanced technology called Alternative Internal Resonance, or A.I.R. for short. A.I.R. combines lightweight and resonant softwoods sandwiched between harder tonewoods creating an instrument loaded with sustain and tone while maintaining an ultra lightweight construction. Already proven in the RGX line,Yamaha now offers this sustain and tone in the RBX line with the RBX4 A2.

RGX-TT transluent red sunburst.

Image

The original Yamaha RGXTT guitar was introduced in January, 2000. The "TT" suffix stands for co-designer Ty Tabor who plays guitar in Kings X.
Ty contributed his "wish list" of features to this line of all-business rock guitars.
In June of 2000, the redesigned and lower cost RGX Yamaha guitar started life with a price of $499 MSRP.
The "D6", for drop six, is Yamaha's derivation of Ty's original RGX and denotes that this guitar was designed from the beginning to be tuned down for a weightier sound.
A typical string tuning begins with the normally low E string tuned down to a low C. Chord shapes stay the same as regularly tuned guitars but,
for example an E chord becomes a big fat C chord.
You'll be glad to know that now there's no stress or need to learn a seven-string guitar just to get that low B string sound.
A 26 1/4 inch scale neck is used along with heavier gauge strings to achieve this.

The D6 has the same construction, materials and looks of the original Ty Tabor RGXTT model.
The basswood body has a raised center section of figured maple running the length of the body.
The pickups and bridge are attached to this maple section that is said to help focus the low-midrange frequencies.
The rest of the body tapers towards the edges making for a lighter instrument.

Image

The RGXTTD6 uses a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck pickup in the bridge position and Vintage Rails pickups at the middle and neck positions.
You also get a Wilkinson VS100 Tremolo, a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and a pitched headstock.
The Sperzel Locking tuners are mounted in a staggered layout, keeping the strings at a consistent pull-angle away from the nut.
All hardware is black including the 5-position pickup selector, master volume and master tone controls.
Available in Red Burst, Green Burst and Purple Burst, the RGXTTD6 carries an MSRP of $1,699 and will begin shipping in November, 2000.

THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO ROCK!

The Red Rocker has enjoyed a charismatic life on the top for more than 30 years. From his days with Montrose to a hugely successful solo career to nearly two decades of Van Halen.

With the help of Yamaha's custom shop in Hollywood, CA.
Sammy has created his signature guitar based on the award-winning AES620 mixed in with a bit of the Red Rocker's own touches.
The AES620 SH features a mahogany body with a figured maple veneer top powered by two humbucking pickups including a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.
The set-in mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are enhanced with the world-famous Cabo Wabo™ logo inlaid at the 12th fret.

Two well worn, but cool beauties, both made in Taiwan, both from the 90's :D

Yamaha RJ-420D and EGK-300 Eterna

Image

If anyone think they look a bit like a double cut Les Paul and a strat, I would agree.

The RJ-420D has been modded quite a bit:
Pickups have been changed and pickup surrounds mounted.
Seller told me the pups should be Wilkinson PAF, or something like them.
The Yamaha logo and torch on the head has been removed/polished away,
and the volume and tone knobs have been changed to the black knurly type.
Still, it looks, feels and plays fine. ((i))
Anyone who knows more about this rare, but reasonable priced oddball, please come forward.
Image

The EGK-300 Eterna was hiding at my local music pusher, but needed a new home.
This one I think is stock, with some dings and dongs, but looking ok, sounding very stratish.

That's cool buzzard. I'm a big fan and collector of old yamaha gear as well. I'll post some pics when the light is right.
