Not bad! That's relatively cheap service in my opinion.

Pickup repair is done. They rewound one of the two coils. On its way back to me. CAD$60 total cost. I'll let you know the quality of the repair when it arrives, but these guys seem to be excellent.laurie wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 4:21 pmShipped the pickup off yesterday to www.pegcitypickups.com
IF they can repair it, it should be around CAD$100 - about half the cost of a new replacement, and keeps the vintage "vibe" of the instrument.

Re: One bass, to rule them all...
Pickup is back from Pegcity pickups. Nice job. Only small issue was the output wires from the rewound winding had the colours reversed... In parallel mode there was almost no signal. An easy fix (just swap the connections).
I have now heard the "OMG" mode - the two windings in series. O.M.G. what a beast.
I need to sort out some of the tone control wiring tonight (I have found the actual schematic) then button it up and call it finished.
Definitely my new favorite bass.
