Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

So I spent a little time playing bass through the SD2. Gotta say, it works rather well!

Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

Great little box indeed, lately I'm using it for bass, the lead channel gets me a really nice overdriven tone without losing (much) low end. My clean tone is pretty midrangey anyway, so sounds great with the SD-2. I should try my SD-2 with bass then. Red mode does get noticeably more low end as the...

Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

So, things are getting back up and running... After not playing with this one band since November of '19, I have recently gone to a couple band practices with them. The guitarist in that band has been using his SD2 for the last 8 years (driving his Peaveys: an '83 Studio Pro 40 or '76 Classic 2x12")...

Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

One (yellow) overdrive that doesn't get mentioned much is the OD-2 Turbo Over Drive. Is there anyone here that loves that pedal? I have a OD2. Despite it's volume issues, the Turbo mode is outstanding as a stand alone drive tone. OD2/Turbo mode was my favorite yellow BOSS before the SD2.I did a R62...

Re: Boss pedal photo thread

Dust off day, took the opportunity to take some family portraits. Bought one more shoe rack, the 5th, will try to assembly it this week, and a big photo will come. These are my favorites and I am almost there, a few variants more of each model and will have them all. 8-) https://i.postimg.cc/T1BjWx...

Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

Yea SD-2 rules!!! uses LEDs as clipping diodes... in general I think swapping silicon diodes for LEDs is a basic mod that improves almost all classic dirt pedal designs. You know about the yellow mode? if you plug an expression pedal in the remote jack you can actually get both channels at once I h...

The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

After finally getting my own SD2 and using it with my amps and guitars, I have come to the realization that it is my favorite BOSS overdrive. The green mode is pretty transparent and makes a great boost, with the gain up a touch, it gets my foundation crunch tonality on both Fender and Marshall circ...

The current Malaysian made SMD boards could easily fit in a micro housing.
Indeed they could. Yer average Boss pedal is 90% fresh air these days.
Haha! Great for the smugglers!

Re: DC2 vs DC3

I do find that most pedals have more gain than I typically use/need. I have fun running them up high in the 'unnatural' zone, but I can't use those sounds much, if at all. :( My 'base-level' gain setting is pretty much like Back In Black era AC/DC. Crunchy, percussive, not too compressed, has dynami...
