When did DS-2 go to all silicon diodes?

I just took delivery of an MIT DS-2 Turbo Distortion. The Boss s/n decoder estimates it's manufacture date as April 1999. I have read that early production runs used germanium clipping diodes in one of the modes and silicon clipping diodes in the other mode and that production later switched to all ...

Re: The SD2 is my favorite yellow BOSS pedal.

LOVE the Red mode, but Green mode is just OK. Anyone have any good mod suggestions for the green mode that won't effect red?

Also, bumping to see if anyone has any advice for SD-2 Crunch mode mods? Love the distortion mode, but Crunch is...meh.

Oops...meant to write that I scored an "OD-2r" on Reverb. Corrected in previous post.

Re: A possible long-dash OD-1 build

Lack of tone control is the only thing that kept me from attempting to acquire an OD-1 back when prices were still within reach and I figured the sound was probably not all that different from my SD-1s, OD-2r, or OD-3. Re: A possible long-dash OD-1 build

How about Old_Iron or fuzzbuzzfuzz? Seems like something they would be interested in? An OD-1 with a defeatable tone knob seems like the best OD-1 you could ask for.

Re: A possible long-dash OD-1 build

For only $120 CAD, I dont even have to think about this one-count me a definite YES!

Now we only need to get 5 more takers!

Re: Anybody know what amps Katana MKII models?

Was just playing through the Crunch model variation #2. With gain maxed, it sounded similar to a cranked Tweed, like a Bassman or Tweed Deluxe, so maybe the base variation is a cleaner Tweed like a High Powered Tweed Twin or a Bassman with the volume set at noon or below?

Re: A possible long-dash OD-1 build

I might be interested.

I have never played an OD-1. I do have an early 80's SD-1 and an OD-2r. How far off are they from what you would be building?

Do you have a ball park cost in mind if you get at least 10 orders?
