Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
I have three Muffs: '74 V2 (Rams Head), '78 V4 (Op Amp) and '84 V6 (Tone Bypass). Bypassing the tone control certainly lessens the mid scoop. The Rams Head is also not as scoopy and smoother than the other two, it's my favorite. In the 90s, I used to run the Rams Head into a 72 OR-120 and 73 Orange ...

Re: New BOSS pedals!
I ended up with the Behringer clone of the OS-2 (the OD100). It seems OK, and *way* less expensive. Haha! That's kind of funny. The OS2 was such a 'Red Headed Stepchild' of the BOSS world for so long that I picked mine up for $20 about 15 years ago. I had a friend that gave his to a younger player ...

Re: New BOSS pedals!
RE-202 looks like tons of fun. Congratulations! The OS-2 isn't exactly one of my favourites, meaning: it doesn't provide that certain distinctive sound that I can only produce with this pedal. But it is a good workhorse. If space is limited you can easily dial in various solid sounds with an OS-2 a...

Re: Sweet find coming in the mail soon
Nice!
I also search for the newer, through-hole versions, too, just in case a mod idea pops up.

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
I recently picked up a used TC Impulse. It was $50 and still had the box, manual, etc... So it was easily flippable, if need be. However, it's staying! It's above and beyond my expectations. I wanted to get a better cab emulator for those rare occasions I need one. I was doing more JamKazam stuff du...

Re: Boss DS-1 "Oddball"
I had a 1989 MIT DS1 (can’t remember the month) . It was pretty much identical to my Oct 86 MIJ.

Re: Thinking of selling my collection
Keeping a few of the classic, go-to pedals is a good idea. I had the core BOSS back in the 80s (DF1/SD1/CE3/DD2, BF2), sold them in the 90s, replaced some of them later in the 90s, sold them in the early '00s and replaced again shortly there after! Now, they are here to stay (with many, many more BO...

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
Those Korg 301dl delays bring back memories! I worked at a store in the 90s that sold those, and remember very well how great that delay was. I was using a BOSS DD5 with FS5U tap and was going to get the KORG when the Line 6 DL4 came out and that one snagged me. If I came across another 301dl, I'd s...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
Wow! Wild story, cool ending. I'd take a single band PEQ over a graphic more than half the time, as any issue or need with tonality can often be solved with smart use of boosting or cutting a certain frequency with aptly applied Q. I really like my Boss PQ3B. Also, glad to hear about trustworthy peo...

Re: Marshall 1960A cab... got an unbelievable deal
I bet it will sound great!
It's funny, my main amps are older Mesa Marks (IIA, IIC+, III) and they tend to be a bit mid forward, but the T75 is complimentary with that voicing.
