Re: New BOSS pedals!

Don't underestimate the Slow Gear! It is so much more difficult to get it right with the volume knob of your guitar. Not every guitarist can do it so professionally as Jeff Beck did it or Janne Schaffer does it. Add delay and reverb and the Slow Gear is becoming a fantastic gear for unique solos. I...

A quad opamp OD-1 would be possibly a better score than a CE-2
That would be my first choice, the quad opamp OD1.
Then the Spectrum
Then the Slow Gear
I don't have any of the above, just a 4558 OD1. The quad opamp OD1 would get used often, the others... eh...

Re: Seized pot shafts on a pedal

Ah, that sounds promising! Using heat is a good trick that I hadn't thought of. I have a small very controllable heat-gun that I use for heat-shrink tubing. Careful heat often works - if the metals are dissimilar enough the heat causes expansion at different rates and that releases the binding. A p...

Re: New BOSS pedals!

Despite having a keeper--a well worn 11/85 DF2 Distortion-Feedbacker, which replaced the Dist/Feedbacker I got new in 1985 and sold around 1992. I happened across a pretty clean 6/86 Feedbacker-Distortion for beyond a good deal. Maybe it stays, maybe I try the weird, synth oscillation tweak to it..?...

Re: Building myself a vintage Deluxe Electric Mistress clone

Will selling the SAD1024A make you more happy than having the opportunity to play it? Selling the SAD will make me sad :? Now I have a big decision... Do I make a Deluxe Electric Mistress (have a PCB made) and keep the SAD chip, or do I sell the SAD as known good? It does sound awesome ... I think ...

Re: New (broken) pedal day!

I didn't like the SD-1 much in my younger days, particularly when I was playing solid state amps, but it has grown into one of my favorite overdrives of all time. I like it for low to medium grit into a clean amp, but it is my primary boost for dirty amps. I've probably had about 75 of them over th...
