Re: Pedal Board Projects

Wow! Cool boards! I like how they could be on the side of the road as a "Historical Marker" for travelers to get a break and learn something. Because people on a road trip need to know about the history of dirt pedals, not just large balls of twine! haha I also agree that in this boutique age, it's ...

Re: BCB-6G?

I consider the 6G kind of the holy grail of their boards and having tried to get them over the past 20 years I have found these are the hardest to find. While they hit the market more now, for about a decade there would be somewhere in the realm of 0 to 4 pop up on ebay per year. The pedal paint te...

Re: Re:

I'm the same with Muffs. They are just not my primary thing. I have a 74 V2, 78 V4 and 84 V6. They cover pretty much the three main Muff tones. The V2 was the only one that I would plug in and use for the whole playing session, it's less scooped and smoother in the top end. But... that was in the 9...

Re: Re:

That's why I cannot really bond with my PW-2. I rarely use it, because the Big Muff sound is something that has always left me unimpressed. A friend of mine has a model from 1974 and I had the chance to use it with my gear for some weeks. No love, I'm sorry. Oh, that could be the first DS-1 version...

Re: Re:

That's interesting about the op amps of the MT2 changing. It certainly makes sense, as the 90s era MT2 was 100% unusable for me. Even the lowest gain setting on those was too much gain, too much compression. I too don't necessarily find much need for the Waza versions, as i have most of the origina...

Re: Re:

Current MT-2 and MT-2W are such a different animal than MT-2 from the 90s and early 00s. The current ones have much lower gain op amps in them, so they don't compress into high-speed bee fight territory as easily. I seem to remember the change happening in phases around 2010-2011? There was a perio...

Re: For Sale: ugly and cheap MIJ DD-3 Digital Delay

That's a great 'igical la' for the gig pedalboard! Let it get all the beer spilled on it, stepped on by stumbling patrons, etc... :D
The MIJ long chip DD is legendary. Such are great delay tone.
Good on ya for doing some maintenance keep it on the road!

Re: Making your own control pedals for things like RC-3, DD-7, etc.

SWITCHES I used to use "Carling" momentary switches but the price has gone through the roof. I've just purchased some of these: https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/612-FS57SPMT2B2M1QEH They seem very well made, and have the advantage that they are SPDT, which means they can be used as NO (Normally ...

Re: For the old fart Canadians amongst us - a Garnet "Stencil" (Ram) amp from Value Village today

I'm darn near an old fart (53), however, my 39 year old wife thinks I yell at the sky like an old fart. :D
Garnets are cool, even for Yanks like me! I also like Yorkvilles!
Randy Bachman put them on the map for me.
