Whining Sound DF2, Does Anyone Have Suggestion Which Capacitor Could be the Culprit ?

HI Everyone, I have some issues with the DF2, the main issue is a whining sound underneath the feedback sound. Distortion sound is fine, it is the Feedback function which is at fault. Suspect it is a capacitor which is about to fail. When you check the pedal there are lots of capacitors inside the p...

I have both and I think they sound the same. The extra switching options on the Waza are useful too. Here’s a gratuitous photo of both with some friends ;)

The toggle switch on the MT-2 says it all....No Waza can beat that ( I guess?..!..)

Re: DS-1, DS-2 and DF-2 and How We Can Change Our Mind About Sound!!

Yes I know what you mean about the OD-3, almost too much. Interesting observation about the FZ3, yes I think I miss it old fashioned fuzz sound like on the FZ-2, even though that is not really a authentic Fuzz sound, but sounds closer to one compared to the FZ-3. I have to check the FZ-3 closer afte...

Re: DS-1, DS-2 and DF-2 and How We Can Change Our Mind About Sound!!

Old Iron, I like your observations about the pedals you mentioned. Amazing to see that you started out with your love for the dirt pedals and from there went to the whole compact range. Have never tried a MZ-2. I was going to get one then changed my mind ( "how many more pedals do you really need?" ...

Re: DS-1, DS-2 and DF-2 and How We Can Change Our Mind About Sound!!

Yep, the plain old DS-1 is a great pedal. I have an early one from 1978. (7500) Never felt the need to try the other two. 1970s An OD comparison? Maybe use a SD-1 instead of the OD-1, if you want a tone control. :geek: (Although, the 14 pin OD wouldn't be in the equation then ;) ) Well the OD-1 is ...

Re: New Nirvana Doc Here: Nevermind: When Nirvana Came To Britain

No problem, yes I enjoyed it too! I think Nirvana still sounds fresh today. Today I passed the area of one of the venues where they used to play. From how the area looks today you can see and feel how much time has passed since Nirvana played here: Everything has cleaned up and looks more modern. Th...

Re: Thrift store find - vintage Baldwin amp

Looks like a great amp Laurie! Some of the layout with the two channels looks very much like the Fender Twin, complete with the type of speakers they used. The SuperSound idea is very late 60s, 70s eh? Looks like a twist of some organ/keyboard ideas. Would be interesting to hear the trem. Did you ha...

Re: Boss RRV-10 (micro rack) and RV-2 comparison

I agree - they do seemed to be voiced differently. In answer to your earlier question visserman, I bought most of the Micro Rack series as they were launched to equip my first home recording set up. I hadn’t done any comparisons with the pedals until now. The Micro Rack units have gathered dust in ...

Re: Boss RRV-10 (micro rack) and RV-2 comparison

Yes Pepe that is it: Rack units for studio use, and compacts for Preforming use ( Less options, but whatever sound you dial in, it will be useable and of acceptable quality)
Cheers!

DS-1, DS-2 and DF-2 and How We Can Change Our Mind About Sound!!

I could remember I had created a post about the three pedals on the StompBoxZone site. Here it is: https://www.stompboxzone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=445&p=5094&hilit=meet+the+orange+family#p5094S-1 When I had written that I was comparing and contrasting and listing out for details. Today in a v...
