Re: New Boss XS-1 & XS-100 Poly Shifters

Thinking about them, I do not think you can change individual strings. I guess this would be too complex. I think you'd need something with one of those midi pickups like the VG-800 to change the pitch of individual strings. or do it manually, which nothing beats of course. I know, the pedal is des...

Re: All the different DD-3 models

Yes, the DSD models have the same long chip as the DD-2. ..and often can be found somewhat under the radar price wise. Well at least until recently. And I’ve never figured out the trigger sample bit  It is a very very, short hold function. Not sure if you need to keep the switch pressed down l...

Re: New Boss XS-1 & XS-100 Poly Shifters

Yes they both look impressive. I just noticed them today, read on the Gear Page a thread about the XS-1, some people over there have one. Thinking about them, I do not think you can change individual strings. I guess this would be too complex. I have to mention something else nothing to do with thos...

Re: If you ever wondered what was inside a vintage PSA power supply

A engineer who I know has repaired the power cables on probably 5 to 6 of my PSA's He puts some kind of rubber around the place where the cable comes out of the case. It stops the cable from breaking. I transport my PSA's all the time, and it is one of my most used power supplies. There is something...

Re: All the different DD-3 models

Interesting topic. I'd count the PS-2 as one of the better "analogue" feel BOSS delays, whopping 2secs that gets quite gritty and lo-fi. DD-3 Long chip - grab and go reverb sub or delay (Feed to semi dirty amp! DD-7 - always on Reverse mode on the board, can sub for anything else that crops up DD-5...

Welcome back!

FWIW, I love message boards much more than social media groups. More personal.
I think anyone here will agree.
Forums were here first, the whole social media stuff came later.

Re: Another thrift store find

One year on... It came from a thrift store with all the hardware stripped. My intent was to rescue it with inexpensive hardware and electronics and then likely pass it on. With the upgrades, it now owes me about USD$350. It doesn't hold tune perfectly, it has "idiosyncrasies". Personality. But... Y...

Re: Roland Bolt-60

Cool! I really like the way of the effect loop with its three options. I wonder why they didn't move the footswitch jacks for overdrive and reverb on the back of the amp. These look a bit strange on the front. I noticed that too, but I like it: Access straight away, nothing to turn over, you see wh...

Re: New Boss pedal Rotary Ensemble RT-2

It arrived today and it looks just like a mini RT-20 ! After reading the manual several times, I figured out how to use it properly and got some very promising sounds out of it. I need to really get into this one to get the best out of it. Tested in stereo through a Roland JC-40. Make sure you read...

Re: What Has Happened To Boss Manuals?

The other place you used to be able to find suggested settings was in the Boss Guitar Effects Guidebooks they used to release. Neither my original (1989) nor the current (2016) manual for the CH-1 has any suggested settings but there are some in the old Guidebooks. Does anyone have a manual for the...
