Re: Fixing an RV-5?

Hi!

That's great that you managed to fix your pedal! I still have my broken RV-5 so I will check those capacitors that you mentioned.

Thanks for adding this information - If it doesn't fix mine, it might help someone else in the future who finds this post :)

Re: Is Reverb.com Is The Reason Why We Can No Longer Buy Many Boss Pedals For Cheap Anymore?

I bought a whole bunch of pedals about 5 years ago, all on ebay, and got reasonably lucky with the prices. But I had a lot of spare time to burn and was constantly refreshing looking to grab the offers as soon as I saw them. I mostly got all the ones I wanted (I bought 11 Boss Pedals in 2019 :o ) I ...

Re: Boss DS-1 MIJ spec - do the diodes matter?

Hi, Thanks so much for replying, that's all really helpful :) I'd say my ears definitely fall into the 'I wouldn't notice a difference' category but I'm still humming and hawing over this - a weird obligation to make this stock with the right parts, to 'restore' it. My DS-1 is a weird one in that al...

Boss DS-1 MIJ spec - do the diodes matter?

Hi, I bought a MIT DS-1 but it's from the era where the internals were still Japanese spec. I had a look inside the other night and noticed the D4 and D5 had been removed at some point in its past. I didn't even realise (I was using it as a boost!) I'd like to return it to stock as much as possible ...

Re: Replacement pot for PQ-4 Parametric EQ?

Thank you for the suggestions! :) I'll go with the banzaimusic pot as that seems the easiest solution as I'm based in the EU too.

Replacement pot for PQ-4 Parametric EQ?

Hi everyone! I managed to get a PQ-4 for cheap but one of the dual pots is bend slightly. It's the leftmost Presence/Low one - it still works fine but it's a little awkward to use as a result - turning the outer ring will make the inner ring move too at certain points. Is this pot something that exi...

Re: Fixing an RV-5?

I replaced X1 and there's been no change at all unfortunately.

Time to call an end to this endeavour I guess, unless there's anything else worth considering :)

Re: Fixing an RV-5?

Finally got the scope kit and have assembled it.

Provide I'm using it correctly, there's nothing on R78

Pin #16 of IC8 also has no signal on it.

Am I definitely out of luck at this stage?
