Re: New Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet

Well... Going on nearly 3 months waiting for my IR2 to arrive! Seemingly, BOSS is inbetween production runs, as many places don't have them, and they are popping up used for nearly new prices. I'm patient, been looking forward to this, and still have my two other IR 'amp' rigs in the meantime, thoug...

Re: Let's see those pedalboards!

...and this is how I'm currently using the bargain BCB6/PSM5 I got a few weeks ago. The "need a boost or some dirt?" board. The SD1 is my B50 version. https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-0bRNyLnJL0pZOju37gIGvAJPjGm5zan3rARPapS3bn3vaUPlnCPlFwGg5OpFQeknUnDnu4gHHWpfyYq5WwzmNg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium...

Re: Let's see those pedalboards!

Well I change months ago : only synthesizers, no effects... except the first SYB-3 is set for a fuzz or an octave. The second one is a "space" sound and the SYB-5 is for drone with LFO sound. Ha! Like minds... This is my 'add some synth bass' board. Also, 'what to do with this extra TU2?' board. ht...

Re: Let's see those pedalboards!

That's a killer Charvel! I had a 89 Cobalt Blue Model 4 back then, it was like yours, but pre-toothpaste logo, had a bolt neck, 3 mini toggles vs blade switch and the original Guitar headstock logo (the Model 6, like yours, had the set neck). Same J200 stacked 'singles' and J50BC humbucker with JE12...

Re: Notaklon kit anyone?

All is well again. JHS did a warranty repair on the pedal, it needed a new charge pump. 10 day turnaround from when I dropped it off to the day it arrived on my porch. Works and sounds great, and didn't cost me anything but a trip to the FedEx drop-off at my usual grocery store. It was a bummer to h...

Pull the board and mail it to me (don't need the whole pedal). I can fix it for you.

Re: Seized pot shafts on a pedal

I have three ways to loosen pot shafts. In order of safety/success... 1. Naphtha. Just a drop or three down the shaft where it meets the pot body. The grain of salt is that this is a home run to match the friction of stiffer Alpha pots to the looser feel of Bournes or CTS. However, it may work to so...

I'm curious about that too.
I had the chance to open up a couple of those a few years ago, but didn't.

Re: Cable Capacitance

I remember when the discussions and arguments started popping up a few decades ago. Pretty sure what put it on the map for me was George L's and Eric Johnson's use of them. He used single coils and fairly long runs of cable with his touring rig, so low cap was pretty necessary. However, he also talk...
