Re: New BOSS pedals!

I have had the same impulses to get the FDR-1 and moreso, the FBM-1. Same thing, though... The IR-2, as well as the Walrus ACS-1 and Behringer GDI21 have me flush with Bassman/Bassman adjacent models, plus the ACS-1 has a great Deluxe Reverb in it. I also agree that Pepe might as well complete the t...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Ordered the NotADumble. Will probably have it midweek and assembled about 20 minutes after that. The NotAKlon kit was fun and turned out to be a really good sounding pedal. Assuming the same with this one. I don't have a "Dumble" style overdrive, and the "A Box Later" clean mode will be fun to exper...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

These tiny pedals are hilarious - and that they sound Ok too makes it twice as funny! SO TRUE! I have two EKOs and Trem. I had the Trem on a small board, but it wasn't quite right for how I use trem. Therefore, I replaced the small Trem with a EQD hummingbird and therefore had to swap out the long ...

Re: New BOSS pedals!

Nice! I guess this is a modification to reduce the hiss that appears when you turn some of the faders down , right? A friend told me that the GE-7 (and many other guitar EQs!) has that behaviour and that a modification was not the worst thing. Yes, it's a swap of all of the opamps and several caps ...

Re: Stupid Marshall Amp/Speaker Impedance Question

This might be something worth looking into.
I have found many amps have all 3 taps on the transformer, but only 2 connected to speaker jacks.
This could be a simple wire swap to get the 4 ohm load you desire..?

Re: New BOSS pedals!

I have an October 2010 GE7 with the Monte Allums Plus Mod coming! Pedal is excellent condition, the mod done very well. Best part, the modified pedal was $6 more than just getting the mod kit shipped to me. Figured the $6 was well spent and my MIJ GE7 can stay stock!

Re: Stupid Marshall Amp/Speaker Impedance Question

Your amp has 2 or 3 speaker jacks? My DSL50 has 3: a single 16 ohm jack and a pair that services either a total load of 8 or 4 ohms, depending on the setting of the switch. * as you are already aware, two 8 ohm cabs in parallel is 4 ohms, so set the switch to 4 ohms, plug into those two jacks and ro...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Picked up an MXR M87 Bass Compressor, it was like new and a really good deal, so why not? I have a 90s era Trace Elliot SMX Dual Compressor (on the big bass board) and a LM2B (on the small bass board), but figured it wouldn't hurt to have a 'modern' bass comp that's not boarded. So far, it's really...
