Re: Isolated power supply
What is the benefit of the 9.6V regulator over the 9V regulator? Since they are regulated, they don't have voltage drop or sag, do they? Is it to emulate a fresh 9V alkaline (which all seem to be around 9.6V)? I have read some things, but some of what I read seems like opinion and speculation (espec...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
👍 If you ever get the chance, try a Hotone TAPE EKO! It sounds absolutely awesome. 8-) I will! It seems really cool. I had a search on ebay and reverb for 'Hotone Eko". Lots of Binary Ekos popped up. The Tape version never popped up. I imagine everyone that has one is holding on to them. :D

Re: New Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet
Having the long chip DD3 in the IR2 loop was not working great, it would lightly clip on the initial attack, at all settings and levels. I ultimately wanted both EQ and delay, and there weren't many options if I were to use the small upper compartment for one of the pedals. There doesn't seem to be ...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
Picked up another Hotone Skyline Eko, got this one for the IR2 headphone board.
I like how the EKO sounds, but I like it's super small size even better.

Nice. A hot rodded power supply! Very smart to use the lid as a heat sink.
Re: New Toys
Yeah, 2204 pricing went through the roof! Understandably so. Such a great amp! After having and letting a couple really bad ass Marshalls go in the late 90s (83 2203 and 69 1959T), I did find a cool substitute: the DSL50. Green Crunch mode gives me 85-90% of what a JCM800 2204 provides. Best part i...

Re: Boss IR-2 with footswitch
Thanks for this info, I grabbed the IR-2 yesterday and was really confused about why I had to double tap in order to change channels on it! It's wild that an external foot switch used to switch channels has to be set to momentary, but I can confirm that's how it is. I have a Helix Effects that I've...

Katana V3 coming out soon.
3rd Gen Katanas are being released soon. Not sure of what will change, but it's surely a better processor, better functionality, etc... as most technological things go...
Re: New Toys
Great amps! They did a great job with these. My longtime friend and bandmate loves his 1987X on a 1960A Greenback cab. He also has the SV20 combo, as it's more practical for mic’ed up gigs. The half stack is the go to for practice. :D I love the SC20. I'd get one, but my DSL50 head is scratching tha...
