Re: Linear power supply for Boss (and other) pedals
I have a heap of these boards spare. Ordering 100 wasn't much more cost than ordering 5. So ... if you are a long term member and we've "had previous interactions" (you know who you are) and you would like a couple of these boards, I'd be happy to just post them to you. Let me know by email only - i...

Re: Linear power supply for Boss (and other) pedals
The unit in the pictures is set up to provide 9.6VDC at 200mA. With larger capacitors and bolting the 7809 to a heatsink these will supply over an Amp of current. Note that the LED isn't shown - it will be installed through a hole in the aluminum case that the PSU will be mounted in. . . PSU1.jpg . ...

Linear power supply for Boss (and other) pedals
I've been using this type of power supply for years. I find a linear supply is far less noisy and I prefer the "old school" approach. I've also been using these power supplies as a "buffer" between modern switched-mode plug-packs (wall warts) and older analogue pedals. Find an 18VDC switched mode wa...

Re: Powering Eden pedals (e.g. the WTDI) - not straightforward
This is the new board. I repurposed one of my Caline power supplies: http://www.bossareaforum.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=880 To get the +15VDC for the Eden pedals I removed the 7809 regulators from those channels and jumpered the input pad to the output pad where the 7809 used to be. The power c...

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
A pair of electrolytic capacitors in this configuration electrically mimic a non-polar capacitor half the size of each individual capacitor.
Very common in low-speed oscillator circuits.

Re: Powering Eden pedals (e.g. the WTDI) - not straightforward
I have completed a test of my new bass board - I am powering the Eden pedals with 14.8VDC, unregulated, center negative. They are working perfectly.

Re: Powering Eden pedals (e.g. the WTDI) - not straightforward
One more factoid... My WTDI draws 35mA, measured with a Fluke meter. Additionally, because the pedal is powered through a 78L12 regularor, the 78L12 has an inbuilt current limiter (around 200mA). The 35mA is the key number. This is nowhere near the 400mA rating on the Eden power supply that comes wi...
