I have just bought an ES-8 and I'm getting to grips with it. I want to create a split path after Loop 6, so the initial shared path would be Loops 1-6 in series and then at that point the path would split to a) direct to Output L and b) Volume pedal - Loop 7 - Loop 8 - Output R.
